Product Description

Told in a voice that reads like the intimate diary of a young woman about to take life on full throttle, this novel chronicles Andrea's jittery journey from suburban mall to Portland's thriving underground rock scene - and back again, as she discovers sex, betrayal, and even love.

Breaking free. 24 Jan 2002
Format:Paperback
WOW! What a book. The film, might i add, is just as good. This is the kind of book you laugh and cry with. It hurts, it's funny, and most of all it bears the most pure truth i've ever read. The kind of truth that makes you question the way you're living your life, and the things that you
are doing with it.
Simply inspirational.
A MUST!

BEAUTIFUL 8 Dec 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This novel brought out all of my emotions whilst reading it. It made me happy, made me laugh but most of all made me cry. The story behind the story is beautiful. It reflects on the struggles of being a teenage girl. This novel shows just how much pressure there is out there for us and how there are so many temptations to try certain things. It portreys how things can change people and just how easily effected teenagers are by drugs, sex e.t.c. All I can say about this novel is that it is simply beautiful and that any teenager, whatever their sex, should read it.

Girl 14 Aug 2004
Format:Paperback
Girl is the diary of a narcissistic American high school, she is obsessed with being the coolest girl but by being cool in an alternative way. However she misses the point totally and as she makes very little progression (apart from loosing her virginity) through the book it is hard to know whether this is deliberate or not. It is written in a typically stereotypical American high school student way, this is clever but it gets more and more annoying though the book. Saying this though it did occupy me for a couple of wet afternoons as it is easy to read.
