Product Description

Review

Our favourite tweeter is publishing her diary. Here's The Queen (of Twitter's) guide to festive etiquette. (Marie Claire)

Witty and irreverent peeks at the innermost thoughts of the Royal Family. (Choice)

The clever folk at Hodder & Stoughton have teamed up with the mystery person behind the tweets to create a new book, naturally called Gin O'Clock, purporting to be the secret diary of Elizabeth Windsor. (Bar Magazine)

It's the sort of book to leave beside the loo, a jokey compilation you can dip in and out of - though I will be reading it from cover to cover, grinning from ear to ear because of its sharp, quick-witted and always apt sending-up of people with a public life. (foodepedia (blog))

easily one of the funniest fictional Twitter accounts (Styleandthensome (blog)) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Book Description

Gift paperback edition of the Queen's diary to coincide with the Royal Jubilee, offering insights from the top on all the major events of the last year, including the two Royal weddings, the phone hacking scandal, and the Duke of Edinburgh's tarts and vicars-themed 90th birthday party.

As a total technophobe, a friend of mine had to point out the Twitter account "@Queen_UK" that this is a spin off from........and I have been following her majesty ever since!! Loving the fact the HRH appears to be a drinker and thinker like the rest of us!!
Was slightly concerned that the book might be a padded out version...but it's not...it's hilarious!....a really easy pick-up and put-down book, that actually made me giggle out loud at times....and I'm a fairly harsh critic....
Can highly recommend....good to lend to your mates and am strongly considering a bulk order for Christmas prezzies...would get a lot sorted in one go....

I've followed @Queen_Uk for the last two years and was delighted to hear that this book was coming out.

I found it an excellent read building substance and depth to the themes from twitter. If you follow @Queen_Uk and find it funny then this book is a must. If you don't use Twitter this is still a very funny stand alone book.
Long live the Queen!

Gin anyone?

If you only ever read one book in your life - this is the one to read! I downloaded the iTunes book late Friday night and by Sunday lunch time was halfway through, usually only stopping to fit in some work and sleep. I'm a latecomer to Twitter but my son put me onto Queen_UK and the tweets are hilarious. This book follows the same lines, and is satire at its best. The various members of the Royal Family are portrayed as the general public no doubt sees them, and it had me in stitches when Charles was given Australia to "rule over for a day", and Victoria Beckham would be seated so far back at the Royal Wedding that she'd "almost be in Surrey". Loved all the stuff about the Middletons too, bringing "Asda value meat" to the pre-wedding BBQ. Politicians don't escape either, with Cameron and Clegg coming in for some serious bashing!

Buy it, read it, and be amused by it. If you don't laugh, you don't have a sense of humour!

I can't remember the last time a book actually made me laugh out loud. 'Her Majesty' writes very well, and her insights into UK and international politics are most amusing. Good to see too that she is au fait with the latest technology, and that she appears to be singlehandedly supporting the UK gin industry!

If you dismiss this book as merely a collection of Her Majesty's tweets, think again. It really is the best thing I have read in a very long time. It gets me through my working day with a smile on my face.

Funniest book I have read for years. My favourite characters are Nick Clegg and Camilla. Agree with Her Majesty that Philip Schofield should be Prime Minister.

I bought this as a follower on twitter and daily chuckler. It's a lovely, entertaining and very easy read. One of those wonderful books that you can read a little as and when you like, if you feel like a chuckle. Buy it. If you have a sense of humour and even a rudimentary knowledge of the British royal family and politics, you'll love it.

Brilliant, witty read, just like the twitter daily quips.

This is an excellent book I fully recommend it to anybody who is vaguely interested in politics or just general banter.
