Product Description

OK, so you'd like to lose weight - or you'd like to keep slim but you know your diet just isn't that healthy. You'd like to stop the pounds creeping back on, or maybe you could feel better, sleep better, be more energized? Dr Gillian can show you how. Rather than making you count calories, carbs or eat by percentages discover an infinitely more effective system of levels and goals that will switch on a healthy eating passion in you for life.

Everyone starts on level 1 - because that's where you find your reasons and motivation for being here in the first place. And it's where we flip the switch from just thinking about it to doing it!

Level 2 is Cleanse and Renew. This is a re-education for your body where you'll gradually cut out toxins and replenish through super foods.

Level 3 is your key to Weight Loss. Follow the plan day-by-day and once you've reached your goal and you're feeling fabulous then level 4 will help you feel this way for life, including tips on treats which won't send you hurtling back to level 1 and a fantastic mini plan in case you ever need a quick kick back into healthy living!

Amazon should give us the option of zero stars for our reviews! This book is just another money making spin for the good 'doctor' (which of course she really isn't having bought the accrediation on the internet - mental note: must do the same so I can make as much money as she does!). Basic common sense which we really should not need to have re-iterated to us by a pseudo doctor at an extortionate price.

Be sensible, don't eat junk and find shops that sell good, basic organic food - that's all you need to know - honest!

Well, I think the idea behind all this is very good and it really does work (I managed to stick to it for 3 weeks and I felt fantastic) but I found it just too impractical. The foods she suggests to eat cost quite a bit more than I would have normally spent but I portioned them off and froze what I could and in the end it really didn't cost that much. The only problem I had was the time it took to prepare the food (and wash up afterwards). It is simply too much for someone who is at work 9 hours a day.

I had previously been sceptical of McKeith's methods. She doesn't look that healthy herself but feels hectoring us fatties about how disgusting we are is the best way to get results - a sort of 'Scared Straight' for those who like chocolate and pizza. Having read this book, I'm now a fan! McKeith uses a simple 'level' approach to health and slimming. In broad terms, level 1 is to stop eating pizza and chips; level 2 is to drink plenty of water; level 3 is to start eating birdseed and bran flakes; and level 4 is to continue saying no to anything tasty - as McKeith puts it herself, 'consolidate, consolidate, consolidate'. Some find Gillian McKeith's aggressive and offensive manner too much, but this book shows that it can work. If fat people are too weak-willed to do something for themselves, who is going to do it for them? Answer: Gillian McKeith!
