Working out at about one ninety two per blade this is not a bad price to pay for the blades and razor.
The Gillette Fusion gives good results provided you follow a few guidelines.
If you use the blades well they should last longer and you will get value for you hard earned buck.
A few tips?
Preparation is key here.
Wash your face first if you get up in the morning and have a shower do that first- the shower will softem up the bristles and make them easier to cut.
Wash and lubricate your face. I use a cheapo shaving oil but a decent gel is always welcome. A tip use a small amount- you will be amazed at just how far a short squirt goes otherwise you are washing your cash down the drain.
Rinse the blades often. This clears the slude out and lets the dog see the rabbit as we say in other words the blades can come into contact with your bristles and cut.
The reason blades do not last as long as they do is that they are coverered in a coating of.. well partly you skin and hair and shaving soap.
If you ensure the blades are clean they will last longer> I was once told that the edge of a blade on a modern razor if magnified so that say a page of a book was the width of a fat telephone directory the blades edge would still be a page of paper's width they are THAT thin. So any slude however thin 'dulls the blade'.
there are a few systems on te market that claim to clean the blades well and thus prolong their life- why not investigate them.
This is akin to the old barber's trick of stopping the blade agains a leather belt- the leather scrapes away the coating on the steel blade.
Am I going on? Well yes but I am trying to save you money.
Convenient way for you to purchase a good number of Fusion razor blades without paying the Earth for them, and to get a manual razor handle to boot. Of course the blades will fit any of the powered or manual versions of Gillette razors and I am perfectly happy with the shave these give, rather than perhaps pay more for 'power' blade cassettes. Each blade set gives at least a week (though usually nearer two weeks) of smooth, snag-free shaving, close enough that I realistically need only to shave once per day, even if I am going out in the evening. Very pleased with these, and have happily ordered again.
Was a bit concerned that there would be a total of 12 blades, including the one on the razor, but indeed there are a total of 13. Best price I can find for these currently, at £1.78 per blade. Four stars as I have not opened and used the blades, but they look pukka.
This is a great deal, about 40% less than purchasing parts individually. The blades etc are at high street quality at a very good price. This is a lot of blades in one purchase, so be comfortable that you want this type of razor. However, so far no complaints!
