The following is from Ian's own website detailing the missing tracks problem:
It has come to our attention that some of the copies of the Tour Edition of "Gillan's Inn" have been manufactured with the wrong CD in the package.
Ian's record label has looked into the situation and discovered that there was a problem in the production process - basically an early version of the master tape was sent to one of the manufacturing plants by mistake. This has been corrected but not all of the albums have the problem. If your copy has only 16 tracks on the CD with "Can I Get A Witness" as the last song instead of two live songs then you have one of those that were made in error.
We apologise if that's the case.
Ian's label will correct the problem. All you have to do is send an email to info@essential-music.com - give your name address and the UPC code of the disc you have (the number above the bar code) and immergent will send you the correct CD. To make up for the inconvenience, you may keep the original disc in addition to the new one. The original disc is now a collector's item as there are no legitimate "Gillan's Inn" CDs that contain "Can I Get A Witness" - just yours!!!

not sure why he re-recorded these songs - they are not his best to start with!
but from the opening of Unchain your brain you can tell there's some raw/fun elements missing; it's seems slower and longer and the rest of the album is pretty mush the same a couple of good bits: Blusey Blue sea, Day late, Sugar Plum, Blind man cries wasn't too bad but why oh why was I'll Be Your Baby Tonight even considered?! Jesus it sucks!
The DVD is a bit of a waste too the same tracks with dodgy photos shown repetitively and the live footage is bad camcorder stuff or bad sound
I've been a Gillan fan for about 30 years now (nickname's IG for god's sake)but this was not a fun buy even with some great musicians on it.....maybe I just need to listen to it more.......... with many drinks inside me!!???!!

i have been a fan of Gillan since he first joined Deep Purple..one of the greatest vocalists in rock EVER! this deluxe edition of Gillan's Inn just puts the original version released in '06 to shame...the footage from last years tour and the bonus audio tracks are worth the price of this set alone....i only wish it would have included a complete show instead of just a handful of performances! scrap your old copies of this great release and pick up the 'new and improved' deluxe edition, you won't be disappointed!
