I wish Amazon would stop using the American dating system when they let me know on what date I purchased the item I'm reviewing. However, Giles needs no comment from me. His cartoons are examples of wit and skill that remind me of a Britain that's sadly long gone. I can always pick up a Giles and go through it again and marvel at some aspect of a cartoon that i hadn't noted before. Simply wonderful

For the last few years I have been collecting the Giles Annuals going back over the last 40-50 years. It's become a tradition in my family the we get the Giles Annual each year to wrap and place under the Christmas Tree. My parents were born and raised around Manchester, UK and the Giles cartoons were a regular source of humor and laughs through out the years. I was introduced to them as a child and now it's become a hobby of mine to collect the annuals (I currently have over 30 of them). The 2012 collection is great, though it does have a few cartoons that were in recent annuals for the last 5 years. I look forward to the tradition continuing for many years to come as each fall I eagerly await the release of the next Gile Annual! Cheers!

Old material
Bought this book for my father who is/was an avid Giles reader, didn't realise that this is a "collection" and basically contains a loads of images from past Giles books. Read more
