Gilad is a really good instructor, and this a throwback to the old school safe step workouts.
It is divided into a great warm up/stretch, then there are 4 different step routines. They increase in difficulty and intensity, but you won't find any tricky coreography. This is just basic stepping, with some propulsion movement thrown in at the end. If you do all 4 stepping routines you will be sweating like crazy, and I am sure that you have burned off lots of calories. But beginners shouldn't be discouraged. They could do 1 or 2 step segments to begin with, and when they get fitter they could put all the routines together. The workout concludes with a great ab section and a cool down.
The dvd is filmed on a fabulous location. I think it is on some beach in Hawaii, and although the parrot is a bit too much, (yes a parrot sits on a pole during the whole workout), you can't go wrong with this workout.It is a fabulous 60 minute fat burner where you as a bonus trim your mid section.
