Product Description

Farmer Brown is going on holiday and so he asks his brother, Bob, to take care of the animals. 'But keep an eye on Duck. He's trouble.' Bob follows the instructions in Farmer Brown's notes exactly to the letter. He orders pizza with anchovies for the hens, bathes the pigs with bubble bath, and lets the cows chose a movie. Is that giggling he hears? The duck, the cows, the hens and the pigs are back in top form in this hilarious follow-up to 'Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type'.

I described the first book of this set ("Click Clack Moo - Cows that type") as Animal Farm for kids. This one expands the humour beyond the original concept of the animals pulling a fast one over Farmer Brown, but it is much more fun because the pranks in the farmyard at his expense are bigger and brasher, and this appealled to my wife and I more than to our boys (aged 3 and 5). The artwork is once again wonderful and shows exactly what the text suggests. Very good collaboration between writer and illustrator make this another must-see for parents as well as children. When you've finished here, don't forget to check volume 3 - "Vote For Duck"...

This is a very funny story with humorous and striking pictures. Farmer Brown's animals have minds of their own and Duck, in particular, is a clever fellow which makes him troublesome. When Farmer Brown leaves his brother, Bob, in charge for a few days he tells Bob to follow his instructions carefully and to watch out for Duck's tricks. Unfortunately for Bob, Duck has a pencil and leaves notes for Bob which he follows meticulously - so the animals enjoy video night with a pizza for example. They are only rumbled when Duck answers the phone to Farmer Brown who hurries home. I absolutely loved the prequel Click Clack Moo but think Giggle Giggle Quack is better for reading to small children. My children who are 2 and 4 prefer this book as they understand the joke easily whereas the cow's strike action and Duck's ultimatum in Click Clack Moo took some explaining. If you can afford it buy the pair, and if you're choosing just one then opt for this one (unless you're buying for a dairy farmer).

"age 3-8" ok, so kid will find it funny, but I'm 22 and found it to be one of the best reads I've had in ages!!
that pesky duck and his pencil antics!
