This is a very funny story with humorous and striking pictures. Farmer Brown's animals have minds of their own and Duck, in particular, is a clever fellow which makes him troublesome. When Farmer Brown leaves his brother, Bob, in charge for a few days he tells Bob to follow his instructions carefully and to watch out for Duck's tricks. Unfortunately for Bob, Duck has a pencil and leaves notes for Bob which he follows meticulously - so the animals enjoy video night with a pizza for example. They are only rumbled when Duck answers the phone to Farmer Brown who hurries home. I absolutely loved the prequel Click Clack Moo but think Giggle Giggle Quack is better for reading to small children. My children who are 2 and 4 prefer this book as they understand the joke easily whereas the cow's strike action and Duck's ultimatum in Click Clack Moo took some explaining. If you can afford it buy the pair, and if you're choosing just one then opt for this one (unless you're buying for a dairy farmer).
