Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Most modern cordless phones from manufacturers such as Gigaset are GAP compatible; meaning you will be able to add extra handsets to it. GAP means generic; as such most handsets register to most bases but with varying functionality.

This additional handset (SL910H) is the additional handset for the Gigaset SL910A

Placing calls on the Gigaset SL910H is extremely easy, thanks to its capacitive touchscreen. The user interface covers the generously sized, 3.2” touchscreen for optimal readability and easy navigation. Made with high-quality materials, the Gigaset SL910H’s handset and charger have genuine metal frames for an extremely elegant design. And, with the talk time of up to 14 hours and the standby time of up to 200 hours, you can continue to place and pick up calls for up to three days without recharging.

With the Gigaset SL910H, it’s easy to find the tools you need. All functions are divided into three home screens. The dial centre features a touchscreen keypad for placing calls. The message centre lets you keep track of placed, received and missed phone calls. It also indicates new voice messages. The customizable info centre organises whichever features you need in the one place – including a clock, calendar, directory and more. Keep all your important contacts in one place with the scrollable address book. It has room for up to 500 vCard entries with up to eight phone numbers each. With picture caller ID, you can identify all your contacts by downloading snapshots of them. Talk about advanced calling features: all on Gigaset’s first capacitive touchscreen phone with an integrated answering machine – the Gigaset SL910H.

If you appreciate technology that can express your personality and style, you will truly enjoy the possibilities enabled by the Gigaset SL910H. Easily download sound files and implement them as ringtone melodies. Or put together a collection of favourite photos and have them run on the screensaver picture show, activated when the phone is in idle mode. The full-touch user interface also contains a calendar function for recording important dates. An alarm function notifies you about appointments.

This was an additional handset to add to an existing two phone set up - if you ask me, this is German engineering at its very best! Gigaset/Siemans should perhaps go in to the smart phone market, the build quality and intuitive features are fantastic. The clarity is superb and boy, it looks the part too! The King/Queen of DECT phones

This phone is well made and has excellent call quality. The setup procedure and synchronization work but are somewhat less than ideal. The firmware has some very silly limitations such as not copying contact photos while copying contacts. Once setup is complete they do the core job well.

I managed to sync contacts with Outlook on PC and hook up multiple handsets - so I'm not sure why other reviewers had problems with these aspects (maybe need to update the firmware?).
The ability to input contacts only once is great and hands-free quality is excellent. Accessing messages from any handset and transferring calls between handsets are also very easy-to-use features.
What isn't good is the responsiveness of the touch screen. This is very poor, and you end up making a lot of frustrating input errors. On top of this, the interface is not as intuitive as the mobile phones we have all become used to, so you may find using it irritating. And it's expensive!
Having said that, I've never had a nicer phone.

Excellent hands free phone. I have had a number of BT phones, this is the first phone that actually meets alll my requirements. Expensive, yes. Quality product - absolutely.
