An overlook, and very underated metal tour, A MUST OWN!!!, 23 Aug 2008
I have seen Megadeth 3 times on headlining tours, but none as big as this tour. Unfortunately, they did not come around my neck of the woods when this tour thundered across the USA. However, with this DVD, you can experience at least a small flavor of what all most of the bands had to offer. Spearheaded by Megadeth, and the brainchild of Dave Mustaine, this concert grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go until it's over. Other highlights are Dream Theater, Fear Factory, Life of Agony, Nevermore, Symphony X, Dry Kill Logic, and Bobaflex. The glaring omission on the live DVD is Anthrax, but that does not deminish from the power of this tour, and the excellence of this DVD. The CD and the DVD are all currently very reasonably priced, and should be added to the collections of all fans of Metal and Musicianship. Plus, the bonus dvd with backstage and behind the scenes muckary is nice to see that the bands were having fun, as should you watching the show. Highly recommended.
P.S. During a show on August 2, 2005 in Dallas, Dream Theater paid tribute to Pantera's late guitarist Dimebag Darrell by performing the song "Cemetery Gates" as an encore. In addition was the unexpected appearance of fellow musicians Russell Allen, Burton C. Bell and Dave Mustaine, who joined the band on stage to perform parts of the song.
This performance is included on the bonus disc of the DVD. Amazing performing, MUST WATCH IT!!!!!

Something For Everyone to Look Forward To, 27 July 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Gigantour [2006] (Region 1) (NTSC) [DVD] [US Import] (DVD)
As another reviewer said, this is a rare opportunity to see Dream Theater play Panic Attack and The Glass Prison live, as it will not be included on the Score DVD. I think they chose these two because they wanted to play some heavier material for the crowds that Megadeth and Fear Factory attract. And as a bonus, Symphony X will be playing Inferno, which is a big plus for any DT fans who haven't check them out yet. Aside from the prog metal portion of this DVD though, Factory and Megadeth fans will get to hear some DT and hopefully will like it. It's going to be a great experiemental DVD for both sides of the spectrum, and people like me will get the best of both worlds. But who the heck is Bobaflex? Like I said, a good experimental DVD with something new and exciting for everyone. Add the bonus features on the second DVD, and you've got yourself quite a sweet deal for the price.

A Must-See DVD, 1 Aug 2006

I saw Gigantour in Boston, and was absolutely blown away by almost all the bands. Dream Theater is one of my favorite bands, as is Symphony X (who did not play in Boston). If you love Symphony X, this is your only chance to see them on DVD.
If you did not get to see this tour, or if you were unlucky like me and didn't get to see all the bands, you MUST get this DVD![...]

Unorthodox Metal Line-up, 13 Dec 2006

With my all time favorite Megadeth, Fear Factory and progressive metalist Dream Theater in tow, you can't be wrong. In this DVD, I became an instant fan of Nevermore and Symphony X. Hope that they will be releasing thier own DVD soon. All in all, this is worth watching except I just can't bear watching Bobaflex...Anyway, I will be waiting for Gigantour 2 since all the lineup is awesome with Arch Enemy, Opeth and Soulfly....Hope that it will be realsed soon....
For now, enjoy the first offering by Dave Mustaine.....
