FIRST PC I'VE BUILT FROM SCRATCH. USING IT NOW AS I WRITE THIS, THE MB WAS EASY TO FIT AS WAS THE FITTING OF AN INTEL I5-25OOK CPU TO IT. THE BOARD HAS A GOOD VARIETY OF BACK PANEL SOCKETS AND ON BOARD ONES.
ALL APPEARS TO BE WORKING FAULTLESSLY.. I HAVE AN eSATA EXT HDD CONNECTED OK FOR BACKING UP.
THE FUTURE PROOFING VIA THE USB3 SOCKETS IS NICE TO HAVE.
I CHOSE Z68 AS IT ALLOWS FLEXIBILITY. I AM JUST USING THE CPU's INHERENT GRAPHICS FUNCTION. DOES ALL I NEED FOR NOW.
HAVING NO TROUBLE WITH MY OS WHICH IS UBUNTU LINUX RUNNING ON THIS MOTHERBOARD.
WOULD DEFINITELY USE AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND IT IF YOU WANT A Z68 MB

After spending a few months, (on and off) searching the internet for a motherboard that would suit my new computer: ATX, SLI compatible, Intel 1155 compatible etc, and most importantly; cheap, I finally found this one, and my prayers were answered. This is good value for money and it's even not coloured blue, which would have clashed with my black/green case! It looks amazing and I would highly recommend it.
As for performance, I've had no problems yet, I have an I5-2400, a GTX-560 and two 4GB 1600MHz Corsair DIMMs, all are working fine on the board

Relability has not been tested - needs time to pass. Aside from this there is something to share with other purchasers and Amazon - read on before you buy. Having looked in detail at the Gigabyte site and noted this model comes in two revs (v 1.0 or v 1.3) I queried with Amazon which version I would get if ordered through Amazon. It turned out they could not say or check the packaging!!!! So I ordered this Mobo saying I would return whole order (other components ordered too) if not the version I wanted (1.3) but its quite a lot to pay on chance that you get the correct one especilally considering other components placed on order at same time. Amazon promised (NOTE)that they would in future publish the Mobo version number and I see they are now showing this model as v 1.0 but the version I got was 1.3 (as noted on the box near the bar code). So anbody thinking to buy from Amazon should definitely query the version they are going to get - especially if they are interested in the difference in PCIe slots - Issue 3.0 on the rev 1.3 Mobo but only Issue 2.0 on the version 1.0 Mobo. It does have also to be said that the email I got from Gigabyte said the v 1.3 Mobo was not for UK - but that is never the less the version Amazon sent me. I think Amazon's advert is still wrong on the Mobo version (it now says 1.0) plus I think the Gigabyte support email was written by their newest no nothing recruit who may not even have checked before responding that 1.3 is not for UK. I very much hope that the Mobo I got (v 1.3) will prove reliable without Gigabyte support if such no nothing support is all they can provide. Strongly recommend any buyer of this Mobo model ensure they check support standard is what they need along with the model version.
