I'm really not impressed with this device. The first time I used it with a CF card, one of the pins bent meaning it no longer downloads from these cards. I sent it back complaining the thing was too fragile but they didn't want to know. If you use CF cards, be EXTREMELY careful as the insert depth is very shallow and the guide rails are very short and therefore easy to bend the pins.
It is also very lightweight and it doesn't give you much confidence that it can take lots of knocks. If you keep it in a camera bag / rucksack, make sure it it well secured and can't move around.
It does work with Vista but I found it a pain to find which of the miriad of drives it throws up when you connect it to the PC your photos were actually on.
On the plus side it is seriously cheap (I paid £85). OK no screen and no way to move pictures from the hard drive to a card without connecting it to a PC but if all you want is something to dump pictures onto when on holiday, it seems to do the job. Incidently, despite the fact I am not a fan, becuase of the price, I did go and buy another one! It cheaper than carting around loads of memory cards.
