The box contains multiple seeds for three kinds of fruit (melon, strawberries and rhubarb), five starter growing pots with compost discs, and a very useful booklet with detailed instructions and interesting information about growing fruits.
However this was very different from the product's description. It was supposed to be a selection of seeds for growing strawberries, blackcurrants, cranberries and rhubarb, instead it contains seeds for melon, strawberries and rhubarb. I checked the product's description again and it doesn't say anywhere that contents may vary. I am really disappointed as I particularly ordered this item for the blackcurrant and cranberries seeds. At least I can look forward to my strawberry plant and all the delicious salads and marmalades.
It is very easy to plant these seeds, as all I had to do was place the compost discs inside the growing pots, plant the seeds and water. The plants grow after a few days. According to the instructions booklet, all seeds included in this pack can be sown indoors at any time of the year.

This was a Christmas present for my daughter in law. She loved it! If you have a small garden then growing a melon or two would be great fun. Included were strawberry and rhubarb. She can't wait to get started.

I bought this as a present and whilst it was very well received and provided a good selection of seeds, the recipient has had little luck with growing the fruit.
I can't say whether it's the batch I received or the product in general, but the majority of the seeds did not grow at all with one exception which is currently producing some unhealthy looking leaves. It's a lovely idea for a gift, but be warned, you might not get the fruit to actually grow....

I made my mistake of getting my "Grow your own" kit too late in the season for growing most things so I didn't get any harvests and most of my plants were killed by the frost that hit this winter. However, the strawberry seeds that came from this kit did flourish and are now a nice little established plant that I'm told will really fruit well during this summer and autumn. (Strawberry plants generally take a few years to establish themselves before fruit will start producing decently).
It's a good kit to give you an idea of how to start without buying everything seperately. This would be fun to do with your kids.
