This is a little gem of a book full of common sense advice for life.
I particularly like his reasons for being proficient in the Chinese language.
Jim does not just talk the talk, he also walks it. His daughters are learning Chinese.
I have been most impressed and have passed the book on for my own daughter to read.
This is a must read for oreward thinking parents to prepare their children fo life in this and the next century.

You really would have to know nothing and I mean nothing about investing and the world to find this book useful. It probably is a gift to his daughters but why inflict it on the rest of us?
I was v disappointed. I was hoping that a short book would be packed full of info. The information would fill a pamphlet the rest seems a bit schmaltzy and self congratulatory.
It might make an interesting gift to someone aged 12 - 14 but anyone looking for information to help them learn about / plan their investing will be sorely disappointed. I got bad advice when younger and am now playing catch up to get my retirement fund back on track and really wanted some hard info / ideas to help me in my strategic thinking. I got none.

A Gift To My Children is a short, well composed guide to life written from Jim Rogers point of view. Jim Shares his own life experiences, global focus and practical approach through this book's 83 or so pages. He is to the point and does not lose the (probably young) reader's attention in too much detail. I recommend this book.
