5.0 out of 5 stars The best Stargate audiobook so far!, 5 Jan 2009
It's beautifully read by Michael Shanks and the story just rocks: it concentrates on the SGC and especially the SG-1 team trying to shut down a gate to a different reality. It's suspenseful, full of team-spirit and so sad in places that it made me literally cry - though it does have a happy ending, kind of. It's SG-1 at their best, caring for each other and being an awesome team. And the interview with Michael Shanks at the very end is really funny - I love the fact that he still loves playing Daniel Jackson, that he likes going back to him.

5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING, 29 Aug 2009
By SciFi_Fiend (W. Mids, England) - See all my reviews
OK - I'm biased, I love SG-1 but my least favourite character has always been Daniel Jackson.

So a new (for me) SG-1 adventure with the downside of being read by Michael Shanks in character as Daniel Jackson was a mixed prospect to say the least.

I needn't have worried. The story, written by Sally Malcolm (a recommendation in itself), is first-rate and fits seamlessly into the SG-1 universe of Season Three. I won't go into the details of the story (another reviewer has already got that covered) - all I shall say is that it would have made a standout TV episode and has a very nicely crafted ending.

Michael Shanks turns in an excellent performance as Daniel Jackson, with a few smile-inducing impersonations of other characters thrown in, and is very ably supported by John Schwab as Hunter.

The presentation is nicely rounded off by a brief interview with Shanks.

Overall - excellent and thoroughly deserving of five stars.
