My Town is a bright 30 piece activity floor puzzle that explores a child’s environment from the swimming pool to the school playground. Filled with shops, streets and other recognisable places the puzzle also features six interchangeable pieces so that different scenes can be created to encourage story telling. Children can also use the puzzle as a mat for a game, with their own play people and cars. Lots more tips on extending play value can be found on the box. There is a handy posting slot at the top of the box so that children can post their pieces and help with clearing away. My World puzzles and games are a fun, colourful way for children to learn about the world around them and have been developed in conjunction with child psychologist and play specialist, Dr Amanda Gummer. They complement the learning goals of the National Curriculum, as well as enhancing general skills such as concentration, imagination, communication, observation and hand-eye coordination. As with all My World puzzles and games they are made in Britain using 100% recycled board.

Children will learn about a town environment and should be encouraged to use geographical questions and descriptions in conversation about the puzzle e.g. What's the weather like, Where can you buy a loaf of bread? The puzzle also uses interchangeable pieces so different scenes can be created and talked about.

I bought this jigsaw as part of my grandaughter's 3rd birthday present. She is getting so much fun from it, it is worth every penny. The conversational language it has provoked has been amazing. She relates to the shops and buildings that are familiar to her and asks questions about those that are new. She enjoys the oval inserts and has had fun changing them around. It has helped her become aware of the 'straight edges and corners' in jigsaws. I would highly recommend this puzzle to any pre-school child.

This is by far the best jigsaw we own. The town has many identifiable things to see and discuss whilst completing. We learned all about schools, swimming pools, fire stations etc.
The jigsaw is large, the perfect size for a three year old. However the jigsaw has several smaller two piece jigsaws within. These smaller parts fit within the jigsaw itself. I bought this when my daughter was two and she loved to do the two piece jigsaws whilst I did the rest and she fit them within. It was the perfect introduction to jigsaws for her.

This is the first Gibson's jigsaw we bought and my son aged 3 loves it. We now have several others!
My son had shown some interest in jigsaws prior to buying this but could take it or leave it. My town jigsaw from day one has been a hit with him and us. The colours are bright, the pieces are all different shapes and sizes. If you are thinking of buying this, do it. You'll be impressed and probably want to buy more.
