Product Description

In 1946, Grace Golden was commissioned to produce a series of poster images entitled “Life in Britain Today”. The intention was to illustrate how the country had recovered from the War (which it hadn’t) and to encourage visitors from overseas to come and see for themselves! Cornish Haven is not intended to be any particular harbour scene and its original title was “A Typical British Fishing Village” – well probably not even in 1946, but it does provide a fascinating insight into the hustle and bustle of a fishing port at that time, including the fish market with its corrugated roof!

I bought it for my Husband for a Christmas stocking-filler. He normally does immense jigsaws so I thought this would pass an afternoon but he really enjoyed it. It was reasonably difficult as there are few colours and he said the quality of the pieces was very good.

It's a gift for my father, so I haven't done it myself yet. I will let you know after Christmas!

Maybe not the most challenging puzzle out there but beautifully illustrated with plenty of detail. Ideal for the smaller coffee table!
