Ghosts on the Underground is a journey through the oldest Underground network in the world. One billion people a year descend 150 feet below London into the tunnels and stations of the tube without a second thought for the huge number of deaths on the network and the graves, church crypts and plague pits that the Underground has disrupted over the years. Ghosts on the Underground shows previously unheard accounts from the people who actually work on the network, who talk for the first time on camera about their unexplainable experiences. Along the way, the program explores the more unusual nooks and crannies of the network, showing the amazing old and new architecture of the world's largest Underground network, and revealing that although millions think they know the network, none of them know just how haunted the tube really is.

Having seen this on TV when it was first released, I had wanted a good copy on DVD. This is now possible with Polar Media's release of what is, the definitive documentary of sightings of ghosts and strange happenings on the oldest underground rail network in the world. This documentary is based on eyewitness accounts from people who have worked on, or still work on the tube. With a very balanced narration by actor Paul McGann, this short film delivers a very thought-provoking insight into strange happenings experienced by patrolmen and maintenance workers on the underground.

This is in no way an overplayed sensationalist documentary, but rather a very well balanced and very rational study into the possibility that the London Underground is badly haunted. Considering how many graves, church crypts and plague-pits were smashed up by the tunnel boring-machines during construction, together with accidental deaths and suicides, it's small wonder that unusual sightings have occurred.

This is a very well produced piece of work. Sound quality is great, picture quality is terrific. Recommended.

I first saw this documentary back in October 2006 when it was shown on Channel 5. It's a straightforward and no nonsense, non-sensational account of the various strange and paranormal experiences of staff working in London's Underground system. The long tracking shots through the passageways and stations of the London Underground combined with Paul McGann's calm, soothing commentary lend real atmosphere to this documentary which is one of the best on the paranormal I've seen to date. Highly recommended to all who prefer less sensational and more balanced accounts of ghosts and the paranormal. Very pleased it's finally been released on DVD.

IMO just about the best ghost documentary ever made. Professionally directed, produced, excellent choice of music, really conveys the atmosphere of the places... but most of all with very credible reports and stories from highly respectable witnesses, and the way they match up and vindicate each other's experiences despite never even meeting.. Just a fantastic programme. So glad it is out on DVD now, saw it many years ago on TV and it's only been viewable on the net til now, went to buy it as soon as I saw this was out.

I gave this 5 stars because it's thrilling, but there are so many stories from people who've worked on the Underground that I wanted it to finish as it was spooking me. I'm sure I won't sleep tonight.

I've heard the story about the lady at Bank station before- she has been seen also by some people working at the Bank of England, where her brother apparently worked.

I'm so glad this is finally available on DVD - I'd lost count of the number of times I'd watched the crappy 4-part version on YouTube! This is a fantastic documentary, literally one of the best I've ever seen. Brilliantly filmed, narrated and expertly produced (not to mention wonderfully creepy). A unique find in this genre; it's almost definitely not what you're expecting, but in very good way. I couldn't recommend it more.

Ghosts on the Underground, tells the tale of Paranormal activity witnessed by London Underground staff over the years from many locations across London. This dvd is well made and runs for about 48 minutes. The dvd is narrated by Paul McGann. The only problem with this feature is the fact that you are left wanting more, this should of been longer.

Well made movie. Does not go either way but presents the information properly and leaves it up to you to decide. Was crisp and clear which made it nice to watch. It doesn't add to or take away like some similar movies do. This is what sets it apart for me. Well worth buying!
