Review

"There is hilarious fun to be had in these mystery stories about the original, not to say odd, family who live in Otherhand Castle. Told by Edgar the Raven whose views are sharp even if his perspective is unusual, the upside down existence of Solstice and her father Valevine, an inventor determined to find the Lost Otherhand Treasure, is a delightful and surprising romp." (Julia Eccleshare LOVEREADING.CO.UK )

"The only word I can use to adequately describe The Raven Mysteries series is 'hilarious'. This second installment includes creepy ghosts and useless gadgets, and a plethora of characters that get more likeable with each chapter... I just know that when I need something fun to read, this series will be the first that I turn to. They're kooky and cool, and definitely not just for younger readers." (Jenny Davies WONDROUS READS (cityofbooks.blogspot.com) )

"A delightfully gothic and quirky tale told from the bird's eye perspective of Edgar the old Raven" (tBk MAGAZINE )

"Sedgqick's bizarre bunch are enhanced by the creepy illustrations in this amusing and fast-paced story" (DAILY MAIL )

Hilarious!!! 12 May 2012
Format:Hardcover
"Ghosts and Gadgets" is the sequel to the first book of the "Raven Mysteries", following after "Flood and Fang!

This book, is just as hilarious as the first one, full of ghosts and gadgets, you will be laughing your head off the whole way through. The great illustrations done by Pete Williamson, really brings out the life in the book.

Edgar is worried about his beak, he thinks its getting wonky. Lord Valvenine is busy in his lab, working on his latest experiment. Edgar is too focused on his beak, that he forgets that he is the Guardian of Otherhand Castle. But when Cudweed, the owner of the sticky monkey Fellah, spots a ghost, and strange wailing noises are coming from The Lost South Wing, Edgar has to go ghost hunting. But he can't stop thinking about his supposedly wonky beak. Can Edgar save the Otherhand Catle and find out what's going on, or will he be too focused on his beak to do anything?

This book is a laugh out loud easy read, great for all the family. With a wierd twist to the ending, it's a guaranteed fun read.

Get this book, and you won't be disappointed!

Ghosts and Gagets 8 May 2011
Format:Audio CD
The audio book of Ghosts and Gadgets kept my 7 year old twins quiet for miles on a long journey. It is also good fun for adults and inspired my boys to read other books in the series. Highly recommended.

A wonderful follow on from Flood and Fang! My 8yro loves these books and is awaiting the next installment...funny, wondefully colourful and creative characters with enough humour for the adults too! lovely to read with a great text that makes it easy to read but with enough pages that almost independant readers with a growing vocab can enjoy the independance of these books by themselves. I loved hearing my daughter read these aloud before bed, always a giggle or waiting for the next chapter to reveal more. Highly recommended!
