I love the IDW Ghostbusters series. Been a GB fan since I first saw the film as a kid back in '85 and you can tell that the writers are fans as well. The characterisation is great, the art is nice and the long running story is pretty damn cool.

although it gets my lowest rating from the Ghostbusters series so far that is only because I am confused to where they will take the series when it changes over to 'The All new Ghostbusters'

Everything that was great about the previous volumes continues here! If you have arrived here having read volumes one, two and three you know what a treat GHostbusters fans are in for. If you haven't read the earlier volumes you will need to start there as this is an ongoing series and while each volume has plenty of stand alone stories and moments there are also elements that seem to be building towards a BIG event in a future issue. Compared to previous volumes the background 80's and GB references seemed less frequent or at least far more subtle (as I couldn't see many this time) in this volume however the links to other aspects of the franchise are still there. The game gets even more of a grounding in the GB world with the "Rookie" from the game getting a moment to shine. I also liked how GB2 is increasingly referenced and used. I think most GB fans who read this know GB2 was fun and part of the world but not as sharp as the first however GB2 is still well loved so I am glad to see it not being ignored. However, it seems off that the people they choose to write the foreword for each volume are glowing about GB, the Burnham/Schoening/Jones/Delgado team but always seem to have a dig at GB2. No additional mini story at the back this time but you do still get some more of Peck's "files", covers art, pop culture GB art (Taxi Drver this time) and a superb script to drafts to final colours comparison. Cool!

NOTE: After checking around a few websites it's clear that this IDW series consider the two films and recent computer game as canon and the cartoon versions as a separate world. So they will be referencing the cartoons and maybe borrowing ideas and characters from those other versions but fully integrating them all probably isn't all that likely or even possible.

Random Comic Review: Ghostbusters Vol. 4 10 July 2013
By Joshua S. Taylor - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The Ghostbusters get back to town. I really enjoyed this volume of Ghostbusters, and in fact it may be my favorite so far. The main story felt fresh and had some great inclusions of a new paranormal team. It kind of felt like it was bringing the Ghostbusters into the modern world of today, where competition can be vicious and humbling. The story concludes in a very satisfying way, but not without some great action scenes. I also enjoyed the short with Winston and it kind of add some human emotions to the Ghostbusters. Overall A great read, and would highly recommend anyone to pick it up. I won't say too much more, but you should definitely read it!

Awesome read, i like how it went more into Janoz Poha's life after the GB 2 movie and how things are going for him.
