5.0 out of 5 stars Dan Schoening is back! 24 May 2014
By Mr. Gareth I. Davies VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This ongoing GB series is superb. If you're new to this you NEED to go to the beginning and get all the previous volumes or even treat yourself and get the hardback Total Containment book that collects the first four volumes in glorious oversized book format. The last volume had a disappointment for me as Doc Shaner took on the bulk of the pencil duties as Dan was on some kind of hiatus or something. Normally Dan does the bulk and other artists chip in for the bonus stories. For me Dan being present or absent is a big deal. What makes this continuation of the franchise so successful for me is the team efforts of Erik Burnham's writing, Dan's pencil work and designs and Luis Delgados vivid colour work (in addition to Tristan Jones on P.C.O.C. story duty) plus the bonus of mini stories with other artistic interpretations (but still Erik's writing). Doc Shaner's art was perfect for a mini story but his style in the previous volume was just not Dan. This volume continues to develop the sense of a building event around more seemingly minor busts. Key characters introduced in previous volumes get to be more involved as well as Eduardo from Extreme GB getting added to the franchise nods (I hope Roland and Garrett get a future story). The easter eggs for fans are still there. I consider myself a HUGE fan but am sure there are plenty of easter eggs the guys drop in for the hardest of hardcore fans (seriously the guy who played Slimer in GB2 got a cameo in a previous volume). Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars ALL GHOSTBUSTERS FANS SHOULD READ THESE! 28 Jun. 2014
By Jimmy - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This ongoing series has been PHENOMENAL! If you're even the slightest bit a GHOSTBUSTERS fan then you absolutely cannot miss out on these. They are extremely entertaining and probably the closest fans will come to a high quality sequel of any kind to the original films. Dont worry about being overwhelmed by comic book back story and continuity issues. These books only follow Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters 2 and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The issues are PACKED with awesome Easter Eggs from The REAL Ghostbusters animated series and all sorts of 80s entertainment references. The art in the book is also fantastic. Words really cant do it justice. When you read these issues you'll hear BIlly Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Akyroyd and others speaking in your head because the dialogue and humor matches up so well with the films. You cant go wrong with this series. Just give it a chance and you will not be disappointed.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. I think that says it all. The writing and coloring team of these comics are masters of the craft, spending a web of stories that not only feel like they are individual missions and not only an arc but a preview of the things to come all in one. And the Harold Ramis tribute is touching. These novels just keep getting better and they make this Ghostbuster fan oh so happy. You get a Devil night dealing, a day of the dead emergency, Sinterklass hauntings and a new year eve terror.

I love all the stories they all we're intense and a bit creepy, some jokes we're in it but it did focused on horror from most comics I have read from the Ghostbusters in my opinion.
5.0 out of 5 stars Any fan of the movies will love this. 1 Jan. 2015

Great Ghostbusters comic. It stars the characters from the movies and has stuff from the 80s cartoon show hidden in the background.
Get the other volumes in the series first.
