I approached this season (series, why the change of description?) with a little trepidation as I was aware of the plotline about Jim. Not sure how it would be handled, and who the mysterious Sam character would be, I was nervous that the show was going to head in a direction I wouldn't want to go. I needn't have worried as this season was superb and I await the fifth with bated breath.
Okay the hauntings in this series/season were more secondary to each episode than the resolution of the Melinda and Jim/Sam story but the episodes were no less emotive and well crafted. JLH was as gorgeously sexy as before even if her outfit range seemed to be slightly more conservative than the previous seasons. Her understanding of her character and her on screen chemistry with David Conrad really sets the benchmark which makes this so watchable for me. Supporting cast all add to the mix and the whole is a delicious banquet of joy/pain, laughter/tears.
Not sure if the fire on the set had anything to do with the constantly wet town square pavements and roads, possibly it did, but the clever camera work really made it hard to tell that the set had suffered major damage since the previous filming.
Every episode was a very high standard and not one disappointed me. Can only recommend this if you like the idea of the show and admire the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt.
