5.0 out of 5 stars I love it, 26 Jan 2006
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
I absolutely love this series!

For those of you who don't know Ghost Stories was originally realesed in Japan a few years ago as essentially a little kids show. It's kinda like "Scooby Doo" or something, you now the senario, little kids fight ghosts, blah blah blah, clich'e, clich'e, it's all been done before. However when the show was brought to America a couple of changes were made. Basically the people at ADV films saw it fitting to change the script entirely form it's original version. Basically the story's are the same it's just the dialogue centered around the story that's altered. And believe me it was a good idea, because "Ghost Stories" is probably the funniest anime Ive ever seen.

For those of you who have bought the first volume of Ghost Stories and thought that was funny, wait till you see this. Ghost Stories, without a doubt, will definitely be one of those series that just keeps on getting funnier and funnier as it progresses with each volume. Heres a review of each episode:

Episode five: Episode five was great. It was mainly about Keichero(I cant spell his name), competing in the school sports vestival. But of course theres an angry ghost on the loose who apparently likes to collect the feet of the runner running in lane four, which spells trouble for the gang. This episode was truely funny. The line about the cripps stealing Kechero's shoes was hysterical. I don't know why but it's always really funny when little kids say things they really arn't supposed to say, it just is. As usual the humor was very Topical here, and just about all of it hits the mark, Ghost Stories has a nack for that. I have to say though one thing about GS is the fact that you really cant watch the show with a very limited knowledge of pop culture. Becuase you probably won't get most of the jokes, but if you understood them all in volume one, then go for volume two.

Grade: A

Episode six: This was probably my favorite episode on the disc. It's about a ghost called Babasara who likes to attack children while there home all alone at night. And of Course our five main characters just happen to be all alone, and while Kechero, Leo, and Hajime have "Guy's Night," Satsuki and Momoko have girls night. And that alone just creates all sorts of crazy Hyjinks for our characters. I have to say that even though Momoko is essentially a one joke character, she consistantly stays funny the entire series, just about everything she says is a stitch. And it shows here.

Grade: A+

Episode 7: I like epispde seven, it was really funny, nothing more to say.

Grade: A

Episode 8: Another great episode. Just plain old Ghost Stories fun.

Grade: A

As you can tell I thoughroughly enjoyed this disc, it was sharper, funnier and crazier than volume one ,which is fine with me. Don't miss this title.

Age recomendation:

Japanese version: The japanese version, as far as im concerned just about anybody can watch. There are some mild scares here and there along with a couple of PG reated potty and panty jokes, id say it would be fine for agaes 8 and up.

English Version: The english version on the oter hand dosn't get off as easily as that. I must say as GS presses on to it's second volume it definitely begins to become more and more offensive. It basically makes fun of almost everybody and there are quite a few sex jokes, and, I mean, there not horribly horrible offensive or anything, but there pretty heavy at times. Lets put it this way, if the show was on Adult Swim it would probably be TV 14, a strong TV-14. But one must note that the humor here is only verbal, theres no nudity or anything physical in it. I would give it a 14 and up.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lover of Ghost Stories 21 Feb 2006

I was very pleased with the second volume of this anime. First, it is down right funny. Many times, you just don't get the jokes in an anime or they are really dumb. This is not true of this anime. The jokes are very contempary.

Secondly, the story stats strong and they stick to the plot. I can't speak for the Japanese version but the American version, the plot is solid.

Thirdly, if you are a fan of the anime series "Chrono Crussade", you will be pleased to know, two of the voice acotrs from Chrono Crussade" are in "Ghost Stories" which are Hilary Hoag(Sister Rosette) and Greg Ayers(Chrono). It is very easy to identify which character's voices they are.

Another reason I like this anime is because of the extras on the disc. If you go to the extras and clikc the ghost profiles, they give you a summary of the ghosts they use in the anime. These ghosts are famous ghost stoires and legends in Japan. I particullarly like it because I like learning about different ghost sotires from different places. I also like that the characters are becoming more developed through storyline. If you like the first volume of Ghost Stories, pick up the second volume. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars As great as the last one 4 Aug 2006

I loved Ghost stories...I saw half this one and half the original at the theatre before this even came out. Of course, as soon as I had the money, I had to get it...this is the most hillarious thing ever put out by ADV, as long as you don't like watching in Japanese. (The original dub sux)

Not only did mans journey into space peak between 1969 and 1972 during which the 12 (only what ? 8 left alive) men who walked on the moon did their stuff : music also peaked during those years. The rest is just winding down and fiddling about. 15 5 hours ago
