"Ghost School" is the sequel to "The Invisible Friend", and somehow it betters it. Witty, clever and always enjoyable, this book is a treat for all ages. Even adults who've just turned 25...
This time, with the characters already established in "The Invisible Friend", we're flung into the ghost world a little further, meeting more interesting apparitions, stranger situations and more sinister evils. The scope of imagination is amazingly inventive, and magical in every sense of the word.
The Ghost School of the title is created by Grey Arthur, in an attempt to recruit more invisible friends. This comes at a rather inconvenient time, when suddenly ghosts from all over the country start to vanish. It is up to Tom, Grey Arthur and his new Invisible Friends-in-training to solve the mystery and save the world (the ghost and the human one, incidentally).
It is the multitude of new faces joining Grey Arthur's Ghost School that really bring the book to life. Take Tike the hyperactive poltergeist, Monty the ostentatious famed Thesper, Mildred the bizarre Faintly-Real and The Harrowing Screamer... the rather harrowing screamer... who all bring a brilliant freshness to the dialogue and situations.
Wildly inventive, very well written, and with genius inflections on how us "humans" live our lives, "Ghost School" is a great read.
Fun, amusing, thrilling and memorable. I recommend this to anyone. Literally anyone. Including dull people. Read this, and enjoy.
