Product Description

Synopsis

The dead can't punish those who killed them, but they can enlist the aid of the living to seek revenge...When Gideon Lake, a successful composer, moves into an historic apartment in Manhattan's West Village, he is immediately smitten by Kate Solway, who lives below him. Very quickly they begin a passionate affair, and Kate invites Gideon to fly to Europe so that they can continue their affair without her husband finding out. When he encounters Kate's friends in Stockholm, however, Gideon soon finds out that nothing in Kate's world is what it seems. At the home of the Swedish family with whom they are staying, all kinds of strange and terrifying events occur, including the appearance of the family's daughters in two places at once. Kate explains to him that his musical sensitivity gives him the ability to experience incidents that have happened in the past but whose resonance remains. Deeply disturbed, Gideon returns to Manhattan, but he can't stop thinking about Kate. With the guidance of an elderly woman upstairs, Pearl, who is able to sense the presence of ghosts, Gideon must work out who, and what, Kate really is, and what she wants from him...

Ghostly Happenings 17 Feb 2009
Format:Hardcover
What a fantastic book Graham Masterton wrote. Not his usual novel ,but very very well written. I read the novel in just two days. Which is why I'm a big fan of Grahams books.

It starts out with Gideon falling in love with a woman called Kate, unknown to him until to the final pages what Kate really is.

I don't want to give the plot away too much, but Kate takes him on a trip around Europe trying to convince him to help her to act revenge on a certain person, but Gideon has to solve things by himself, which leaves him frustrated knowing Kate has all the answers, but she can only give him clues.

Anyway, to find out more about the book, you just have to buy it and see for yourself.

Loved it! 14 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
Finished this book today and I must say what a great read it was. Ok you could figure out parts of what was going on between the main characters very early in this book, but the all important why bit was kept to the end. I know this book hasn't had the greatest of reviews but as a masterton fan owning fifty three of his novels I think im a pretty good judge of his work. Its a book thats hard to put down once you start and the characters are excellent. I love it. Ps if anyone has read fire spirit yet can you give me some feedback please

By Mr. G. Battle VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
Is she a ghost? Isn't she a ghost? Is it a plot twist or just Gideon Lake's blindness to the situation? Once you get past the fact that the Sixth Sense type ghost story isn't actually all about such matters you realise that this tale of horror, suspense, terror and love is a very well written and plotted tale. Those initial questions won't be answered until the end, however if you get tied up in them - you've missed the point. Masterton has been here before, and recently too, yet the aim here is not to produce just a horror story, it's a clever and intricate love story, with some well defined scenes that will make your skin crawl. The balance is well maintained, if a little forced at times (the requirement of novels which do not answer the questions until the end, unfortunately). Masterton is great at putting supernatural elements on to paper and Ghost Music is an excellent example - captivating and haunting - a must read.
