4.0 out of 5 stars Memorable 21 Jan 2012
By Karen
Format:Paperback
Thought provoking stories, though maybe a little too short in parts. Very interesting reading and for someone as freaky as me the memorable stories were very intriguing. Would definitely recommend it

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little book 8 Jun 2014
By Mari
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I have read any books I can find concerning Ed and Lorraine Warren and this one is a brilliant little book providing anecdotes from both these interesting individuals regarding some disturbing, some frightening and some out of this world experiences. With all the books of theirs I have read I just wish there was more, I read this easily in a day, it is very short. The content is not as informative or as detailed as the other book I recently read "The Demonologist" but it does give you more information regarding what Ed and Lorraine are faced with and the very interesting travels they have had and the history they have encountered.

It was very enjoyable, and filled in some of the information referenced in the other book "The Demonologist". Their stories remain consistent as is the information they relay from their experiences and the churches stance on things regarding the rare incidents of demonic attack.

I am a very intrigued skeptic and I appreciate the transparency provided through these books. Whether you believe or are just intrigued like me this book will give you some food for thought on how others experience and interpret the world. I will also add, several other cases totally over shadow the Amityville case in very disturbing ways.

I would add more but since last night I cannot for the life me of find it anywhere in my flat hahaha!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Sleep Alone at Night and Read This! 5 April 2010
By Sabrina Rutter - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I havn't read one book by the Warrens yet that I don't enjoy! This book definantly had me spooked! Ed and Lorraine Warren are/were (Ed is with God) demonologists, so naturally everything paranormal is going to be a demonic infestation to them. I can see where they might get the impression about the demonic on the hauntings they talked about in this book, but they even included a way to make the big hairy man shaped creature, better known as bigfoot, a demonic force.
I would not read this one if I had to sleep alone at night! No matter what you believe this book will give you the creeps! I read these kind of books to get scared, and I'm pleased to say this one did the job. As I write this I keep looking behind me. Of course nothings there, but this just goes to show how creeped out I am!
Ed and Lorraine Warren are better known for their works with popular hauntings such as The Amityville Horror, The Haunted, and also for giving lectures at Universities all over the country on the paranormal. This book is about some of their most memorable cases.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying! 21 Oct 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is the first horror book I read that really scared me. Very interesting and spooky! I was lucky enough to hear Ed and Lorraine speak at a high school a few years ago- they were great. If you never get to meet them (or even if you do) read this book, it's worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars scary scary book! 2 Jan 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I read this book over 15 years ago. I couldn't finish it. It scared me too much. I lived in a haunted house when I was young and it brought back too many scary memories. If the metaphyical is your cup of tea I recommend this book. I'm looking to buy it again so I can try to finish it this time........
4.0 out of 5 stars They are incredible 2 Sep 2013

The book was good but not creepy enough for me. I guess in the time it was written, it was scary. What's scary is how long demons and devils have been ignored and walking among us.
