Book Description

1 Oct 2006
Paul Keene is a man on a mission. He wants to prove the existence of the paranormal and has spent years tracking down the evidence he needs to do just that. "The Ghost Hunter Chronicles" details his investigations of some of England's most haunted locations, including those open to the public and also those prominent private properties, such as the Guild Halls in London, that he has been granted exclusive access to. A section on paranormal evidence, information and equipment - invaluable for the novice ghost hunter - is followed by a detailed account of his investigations, documenting the inexplicable phenomena he has found and accompanied by fascinating photographs of spectral phenomena. With in-depth analysis suggesting possible explanations for these ghostly goings-on, together with information on the locations, this book is a must for every aspiring ghost hunter!

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and interesting 28 Nov 2009
This book is written by experienced invesigators with the Haunted Britain team. It starts with a guide to conducting investigations, before moving on to reporting on ghost hunts they have carried out. A handy section on 'Top Ten Tips' and 'Frequently Asked Questions' is included, as well as information on types of hauntings and entities. It also suggests a format for recording events and advises on appropriate use of equipment. The end of the book has a list of locations reputed to be haunted.

The investigations themselves cover some well known locations such as the Galleries of justice in Nottingham and the Talbot Inn in Leicester. A brief history of the location is given at each one and photographs are included. The write up is concise and non-sensationalist, clearly explaining the role of equipment and witnesses in the hunt. However, the quality of the writing prevents this from becoming convoluted and keeps this an interesting, and at times creepy read.

This book is both a practical and fascininating guide with ghost hunts eventful enough to keep the reader turning the page.

I have several shelves for my 'Paranornal/Ghost book collection. Some are old, some new;some very good, some very bad. This book I would say is brilliant! It is written by experienced Paranormal Investigators from 'Haunted Britain'.
These guys know what they are talking about:their experiences at various 'haunted' locations are written in a clear, non sensationalised manner, with information on 'how, where and what'to go about an investigation of your own. There are lots of sensible points-like NEVER do a Paranormal investigation on your own....!! They go to a couple of the better known 'hot spots', but I found the accounts of investigations at the London Guild Halls, where the general public and any old 'ghost group' are not allowed to set foot (or EMF meter!), the most interesting.
This is a great book- I cannot recommend it enough. If you are an armchair investigator who wants a chill whilst sitting in a cosy room, or one who goes out and feels the cobwebs on their face.....get this book! Especially as mine only cost me 75p plus P&p!
The only gripe I have is that the book is printed in a large format and the size prevents the book being slipped into a pocket- but that is a very minor gripe!

Well written with interesting location details. As always, there are more accounts of Investigators' feelings or impressions, rather than actual manifestations or poltergeist activity. Nevertheless, a good instruction manual for the budding paranormal investigator.
