Book Description

25 Sep 2009
From shadowy figures, strange mists and apparitions to angels and demons, "Ghost Caught on Film 2" is a compendium of extraordinary phenomena caught on film. Jim Eaton has spent over ten years studying thousands of ghost photographs and here he presents a collection of the most intriguing in seven enigmatic chapters. This title includes a gallery of explainable photographic effects that are commonly mistaken for pictures of ghosts. The best selection of ghost photos yet published is accompanied by illuminating commentary - whether you are a sceptic or a believer, you can't help but be drawn into the unknown.

About the Author

Jim Eaton began studying ghosts at the age of ten when he confronted the noisy ghost in the attic of his family home. He started the website ghoststudy.com in 1999 to further his research and soon began to concentrate on photographic evidence because of the huge response on the site. Ghoststudy is now one of the biggest and most visited ghost websites on the internet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun to view 4 Oct 2009
By Gareth Wilson - Falcata Times Blog TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Hardcover
A general photo book about what people to believe to be apparitions, as well as explaining how some images can be faked or even accidentally done by the photographer such as exhaling on a cigarette just prior to taking the shot. It's a great stocking filler for the holiday period and will interest those with a fascination in the paranormal, perhaps even a great Halloween gift such as us featuring it here. It will leave you questioning some pictures but its definitely a spooky experience for the reader and one that might help you capture that special image of your own.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK for the fan 17 Sep 2010
Format:Hardcover
OK for younger fans and enthusiasts of the genre. For the older more sceptical reader, you may be suspicious of the authenticity of the photographs. Still a bit spooky...

3.0 out of 5 stars entertaining - but for the right reasons? 30 Sep 2009
Format:Hardcover
Having had a proper chance to sit down and really study this book I've updated this review; I would say that a large proportion of these images are not of the paranormal kind. Unfortunately they're not necessarily just errors either which wouldn't be so bad, but instead photos that have been manipulated by people keen on hoaxing and skilled with photography/photo-editing programmes/computers. To be fair the author doesn't claim them to necessarily be ghosts, but leaves the decision to you the reader. However the book is kind of hinting at the content being genuine isn't it?
A handful are good and could be the proof we seek, some could just be genuine but are a bit iffy, but I'm afraid many are downright silly. The image showing the gaggle of shrouded ghosts peering in through the open car window at the new baby on the back seat just made me howl with laughter - oh of course the car was parked conveniently in a graveyard, well beats feeding the ducks I guess........
Something else which sticks out alarmingly too is the sheer number of alleged ghosts that manage to appear just at the time some guy or gal has bought a brand new camera and is just trying it out for the first time!! Really? Sure that wasn't a brand new photo-editing program? Then there's all the kids dolls and small shop dummies pictured going walkabout in various graveyards.....Did anyone even check to see if all these places are even haunted?
There also seems to be an alarming number of "glowing white entities" like the one on the cover too. A rare type of ghost photograph until seeing this book?
The cover pic was apparently captured by some US ghost-hunter "who saw it coming up the stairs and waited till it got near him before taking its picture". Cripes you mean he waited? Like you'd risk losing that once-in-a-lifetime-moment by waiting for it to reach your position so you could catch its gleaming teeth......
So I'm now giving it 3 stars for pure entertainment!!!
If you want serious paranormal go for the previous 2 titles. If you want to see mostly fake, but still be entertained, then buy this too.
