Set in a Native American setting, this story has very precisely put together history, culture and mystery into one great adventure story. Nathan, a son of a lighthouse keeper, after hearing of a sailing ship being broken up on the rocks near Cape Flattery, doesn't believe that there were no survivors of the crash, and there are some mysterious instances, such as sightings of a wild "hairy man, thefts at the trading post, and mysterious footprints on the beach. Nathan and his new Makah friend Lighthouse George do some investigating on their own. While in the forest, Nathan discovers a ghost canoe and other things, that are the keys to unlocking this mystery of treasure, murder and treachery. This story had me on my toes for the whole time, and it was really hard to put down as the suspense increased. I really enjoyed this book tremendously!
