Product Description

This a fantastically priced good quality maple wood recorder. Made in Germany, it has baroque fingering (the norm in the UK classroom) and provides a free blowing playing experience with very good tone. Equivalent to models at least double the price from other German manufacturers.

I already had 3 Recorders but I wanted an inexpensive one made completly out of wood. (I have a plastic descent one and two made out of plastic and rosewood) I must admit that since I have brought this one, I hardly ever use the others. It sounds so beautiful, warm and flute like (if that's even a word, but hopefully you will know what I mean :-) ). For the price I was really taken aback by how beautiful it looked and sounded. I recommend it to anyone regardless of their age, or playing level, who is looking for a good quality inexpensive Recorder.

This is a very nice recorder. It is expensive but worth it. Good delivery. The wood is good and has a cleaner and some cream.

i found the feel and sound of the recorder was good but it came with a slight darkning like a burn on the glaze of the wood and i find that the glazing can come off quite easily. other than that it is a good recorder.

This is a great price for a maple wood recorder. It's good to look and the sound is lovely but, and it's a big but, as has been pointed out below, this has German fingering.

What that means is the baroque fingering (which you probably use without knowing it) will sound out of tune. For example, if you play F (T1234-67) it will sound wrong, The German fingering would be T1234. And there's no low C# or D#.

I'm sure, for the money, you won't regret buying this item, if you understand its limitations. But for anyone who would like to play well, a Yamaha or an Aulos at this price would be the better buy.

Having dabbled with other simple wind instruments lately, I decided to try the recorder. I suffered playing plastic recorders in school, so I figured I would try a wooden one this time. So, I chose this one and don't regret it at all! After a few hours of "breaking it in", I am glad for the well-spaced holes and solid feel. The low notes are full and rounded and the higher notes are crisp and not airy! I certainly hope it stands the test of time!

We are so happy with the three recorders we ordered - each has a beautiful warm tone, and are well-crafted and sturdy. We would have expected to pay much more than £15 each for such lovely instruments.

We spent a hour or so comparing recorders for my daughters birthday present,
we decided to spend the extra cash and get a wooden one (so we thought)

what actually came instead of the wooden maple one was a plastic scratched resin type.
not really very impressed. paid the extra postage.

overall we got a recorder, although it was a cheap plastic replica, NOT A WOODEN ONE!! so be warned

This was bought so that I could learn recorder alongside my daughter. She has the standard school black plastic offering which I didn't like the feel of or the shrill sound of so wanted something better. This is infinitely better! The tone is lovely and it feels good to play, even just to hold. It was about a quarter tone out from my dd's but that was easily remedied by expanding the gap very very slightly between the mouthpiece and the body of the recorder. Alas now, of course, she wants mine instead of hers so I'm going to have to buy her one too
