Having just gained a place at a medical school, I can honestly say that this book did not help me at all with my efforts to get in. It's far too anecdotal and goes on too much about her story when, to be honest, I just wanted clear and concise advice.

If you only buy one book on getting into med school, make it this one. I found the personal statements invaluable, tips second to none and it's real as the author has first hand experience of making it happen. A great read - a goldmine of tips & advice so a five star purchase for me. A concise, useful and excellent guide.

I bought this book because a mate told me that there were loads of questions from last year, and real personal statements as well.
I'm not a parent, but it was really useful!! I'd suggest students read it too!!

Not suitable for graduate entry medics
The book is very comprehensive for the classic med student: high achievers at A-Level who already know what they want and have ample access to resources. Read more
