A visionary text exploring the mechanics and profitability of gambling. Essential for any serious gambler. Sklansky's prototype work on card-counting at baccarat was an invaluable research tool in the development of my own work on practical methods for money-making at the game. The one caveat I have is that the key-card concept may well be dangerous to players not already well versed in the theory of blackjack. John May, Author of "Baccarat for the clueless"

Not Worth the Price 18 Jan 2005
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is not a book but a compilation of David Sklansky's magazine articles put together as a book and acknowledged as such in the introduction. Although it claims to be suitable for beginners to poker, the language used in each section is poker jargon, not all explained, and full of Americansims. Even though I had already read other beginner books, this book is hard going, more relevant as advice and tips to advanced players and double the price of much better books on poker I have read by other poker experts. This book has been badly edited in my view and is not worth the money.

This book brings dreams of professional gambling down to earth. It only skims the surface of blackjack and poker but Sklansky has a firm grasp on what's important. I met him one time and he was a bit rude. But I have over 30 gambling books and this one is the best.
