I'm one of those guys who once they get into something, has the research and learn everything they can. To that extent there was a time when I had about 25 books on how to play and another 15 DVDs on about playing. With so much media to read and watch it's not surprising that my golf didn't improve that much - I was always watching or reading about how to do it rather than practicing and actually playing!
I'm nowadays playing more and reading the minimum. But this is one book I wish I'd found earlier because it covers so much in one cover. This book is focused on 40 yards and in. It's about the really short game of putting, chipping, pitching, and getting out of the sand. You really don't need another book about any of those subjects if you've got this one. (I use Nick Faldo's "Swing for Life" for the long game, Dave Stockton's putting book for attitude in putting, Rotella for the 'Mind Game' stuff, and Tommy Armour for smart playing out on the course. That's it - down from 40 books and DVDS, to 5 books, no DVD's, - and it's all cheap used stuff as well.)
The only video you need today is mostly privide on the web - check out Andy Beal's stuff or chipping, pitching and sand. Two minutes of video, and few pages from this book - go and practice and then incorporate into your game. 'Simples' as they say - and dirt cheap!
