The more that I play this album, the more it grows on me! UB40 have had more than their share of troubles over the last few years, but I think this album may just be a change of fortune for them. I must admit that I raised my eyebrows when I heard about their new venture into country music, but surprisingly this mix of genre works. Having read some of the earlier reviews, I think that people's expectations of the group are too high! Duncan's voice will never match Ali's but full marks to him, he sounds fantastic on this album, as does Robin's, throughout, especially on "He'll have to go". In fact, it is quite a refreshing change to hear Duncan's softer voice rather than Ali's sometimes mournful tones. This mix suits Duncan's vocal ability and suits him better than on some of the original UB40 tracks he has had to sing as Ali's replacement. The die hard fans will always remember Ali as "the Voice of UB40", but a change of direction was badly needed and this album fulfills this. Favourite tracks are "Getting over the storm", "Blue eyes crying in the rain", "Just what's killing me", "I did what I did" and " On the Other Hand", but they are all equally as good. I too am a long standing UB40 fan and was sad to see them split, but things move on. Well done UB's for taking a chance! I think that this may well pay off!
