I am glad I bought this book because I now have a much better idea of how to present my personal statement for my forthcoming UCAS application to medicine. I found the section on how to present your work experience particularly thorough and it was really good to be shown how the different types of experience can be presented to maximise the impact they can have on the admission tutors; in fact that has given me some ideas of further experience that I can organise for this summer.
The personal statements which are shown are also very enlightening. It is really good to see the different styles that have been used by previous medical school applicants and it was interesting to see how differently those who applied to Cambridge worded theirs. Given that I intend to apply for Cambridge, UCL, St George's and Sheffield, I now have a clearer idea of how different the statements for those four schools look.
The proof will be in the pudding, but for now I can honestly say that this book is a good purchase.
