Product Description

Review

Here you will learn how to stitch free-form spirals, feathers, flowers, bubbles, leaves, cables and more. All of Sheila's designs work well on blocks, borders, sashing and all over the quilt. Each motif can be done in three versions: simple, more involved, and over the top! Use these designs with your home sewing machine, mid-arm and long-arm quilting machines or stitch by hand. --Quilter's Digest; September 2013

I bought this thinking it was for normal machines but it is primarily aimed at long-arm quilting machines. It will still be useful as it can be used on normal machines but I will have to practise hard to get as good as the illustrations, but it is full of good designs.

Worst Book On Free Motion Quilting 22 Oct 2013
By Kelly Lue - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Hands down this is the worst book on free motion quilting i've ever seen. she doesn't give any directions on how to stitch out the designs. you get a line drawing with no arrows showing the direction to move - you have to figure it out yourself. she doesn't give you any full size designs the entire design is about 3 by 5 inches so you can't even practice the motion by writing over the designs.

total waste of my time and money. i sent it back and will never buy anything from this author again.

Good beginner's guide 10 Oct 2013

The designs aren't overly unique, but Snyder does a really good job of showing the individual movements within each design, making it extra easy to train your muscle memory. I like the way she takes a basic motif and ratchets up the complexity a couple times to create more complex designs. And she covers a good range of styles, from flowery to masculine. Definitely a worthwhile addition to my collection.

Not what I expected. 17 Nov 2013

Good resource book, but can't say I found it all that helpful. I've been doing free motion now for more then 2 years and guess I was looking for some new ideas. Can't say I actually found any..
Get addicted to Free-Motion Quilting 20 May 2014

I have several excellent free motion quilting books. This was a good expansion to my collection. I think I would have given it a 5 star except I have been traveling and not doing free motion everyday. So I think the conservative rating maybe my missing doing it. It has many new designs I have not seen and I am sure I will use. Some real challenges that I always love weather they take a long time to perfect or not. Actually I prefer some more designs that push me away from just using my favorites so far.
