Book Description

Book Description

This book will teach you how to write and outstanding resume and how to master the job interview to get hired. It includes answers to over 70 Project Management job interview questions.

How to stand out in the crowd

Without a good resume, you run the chance of not being considered even if you have the qualifications. This book explains several techniques to be used to make your resume stand out and dramatically increase your chances of getting an interview.

To get the job you need to succeed at the job interview

While a good resume, a recommendation, or credentials can get you an interview, it is during the job interview you must prove that you can actually do the job. If you perform badly in the interview, no matter what credentials you have or how good your references are, it is most likely that you will not get the job.

Master the interview

This book will help you highlight your experience and will help you present yourself as the best qualified candidate by discussing frequently asked questions and teaching you how to answer them with examples, guidelines and tips. This book will give you packed answers that will give you that edge. You will learn how to use the job interview to your benefit and get hired.

Real questions and winning answers

The book presents actual questions from Project Management job interviews that are asked to experienced and junior project managers and are the questions that you will be asked if you apply for a Project manager position.
The answers provided will impress in the interviewer that you not only know the theory of project management but that you can actually practice it successfully.

Information Technology Project Management

Every single one of the questions on the book can be asked in an Information technology Project Management Job Interview but there is also a section dedicated to questions that are only relevant in an information technology setting.

Who should read this book?

Any job seeker looking for a project manager position, team lead or middle management position in information technology or other disciplines.

5.0 out of 5 stars I got a new Job after reading this book 13 Nov. 2012
By Terry Core - Published on
I am an experienced project manager and I was looking for a job for what appeared to be a long time. I was getting calls back and interviews but I was not getting job offers. I started doubting myself and I was even thinking that maybe I needed to get back to being a software developer and then I run into this book. This book showed me how to present my experience and achievements in a compelling way and how to approach the difficult questions. The book is full of answers to project management job interview questions and they lend themselves to be used with your own experience. The bottom line is that after reading this book I got a job as a project manager and there is no doubt that this book was instrumental in me getting the job. I highly recommend it.
Oh, one more thing. If you are new at project management, you can learn a good deal about real live project management by reading this book.
2.0 out of 5 stars The typos are distracting . 21 Oct. 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What I have read so far has proven useful enough to earn 4 stars. However, there are three or four typos on each page, so if you have OCD, prepare to be distracted. To be taken seriously as a business book, it needs to be proofed properly for the next edition.

This book is a must-have. I used it for years as my career advanced and now that I am a hiring manager I use it formulate interview questions. I gave away the first addition and replaced it with the second addition.
