Book Description

25 Sep 2008
This is the complete beginner's guide to making animation. The book starts with clearly illustrated instructions on how to set up a simple animation station at home and includes a list of low cost but essential items that make a complete animator's toolbox. Once the basic equipment is set up, the reader can hit the ground running with 6 imaginative projects especially designed to develop technical skills. Clear step-by-step instructions accompany photographs and diagrams designed to guide the reader through each step of the process. There is a chapter on basic editing techniques which demonstrates how to twin visually exciting sequences with music and titles to create a show reel of work. There is also a comprehensive walk-through guide to the process of producing a short film using any animation technique. All in all, this is the ideal beginner's guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars Important info 8 Oct 2009
It is an excellent book, but a word of caution. The two titles that Amazon are offering above are the same book! one is the English version, the other is the US version. , so dont buy both......

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent choice for an absolute beginner 8 Jan 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
Well, I bought a lot of books to start exploring the world of animation.Among all the books the most captivating and eye catching was this one.But inside it , it gets even better. It shows all the animation techniques, very well explained, with photos and tips and step by step advice how to put everything in practice. The best part was how to make my own puppet. It amazed me how close the author was to a beginner's thoughts such as 'I wannt something cheap and practical for a start'.I think that it must be the first book someone has to read. Then he/she must proceed to something more complicated ,to learn to manage a software because intructions on how to use a particular software in the book are not written.Well, I read it in just two days and I am not even an English-speaking person!!!:)
