It made me get off my arse!,
This review is from: Get Off Your Arse Too (Paperback)
If the success of a book is in persuading you to do what it's title suggests, then this book is a success. I've got off my arse to write my first ever book review!I'd read the first book last year, and devoured this one in 2 sittings - great to have the GOYA 'why and way', after having the 'what and how'. It's funny, hugely inspiring, down to earth, and on occasions moved me to tears. Yes...it's a business book, but it's also so much more than that. There are lessons which are helpful in all sorts of situations. It has set me huge challenges, as I can be a real procrastinator, but the big lesson for me is do something - anything, just do it! And I'm really looking forward to the next time life presents me with a 'Y'.

Before judging the low mark I am giving for this book I would ask you to read my review of the first book. I have the book buyer in mind, not the author and while I am sure that Brad is a great guy, very motivational and very likeable I am reviewing the content. Brad's legendary success with his first book clearly gave him the confidence to be cruder, more macho and aggressive and less sensitive to those he might hurt in the pursuit of this book. I know I am going to be slated by Brad fans, even though I will actually be amongst those buying his third book. However, this book simply isn't as good as his first and actually the rags to riches theme forgets the reader whilst Brad luxuriates in his achievements. It is not a waste of money, the book is entertaining but informative in a critical way and whilst it is right to highlight people who are "dicking about" instead of doing business there are better and more focussed books about. Real content can be found in lots of other business books so please don't think that this charismatic and influential maverick has all the answers in this book. However, the first book is a must buy.

The book title should have put me off,

First book that made me feel like i had wasted my money, i bought the book then researched the author afterwards (wrong way around i know) but we all make mistakes.Chapter 2 left me scratching my head, why was i reading about serious family problems like that mentioned by him, everyone goes through difficulties in life, i dont wish to read about others life history in a business book. I could say more but i would rather waste no more of my time.
