About the Author
Stanley Jackson was born in Epsom Surrey. His early years were spent in a council prefab but he joined the middle classes in 1966 when he married Iris and acquired the ? rst in a series of unaffordable mortgages. He set up Performing Artistes in 1992 after a successful career in ? nancial services.His maternal grandfather, Stanley Howard Stubbs, was involved in shipping horses to France in the Great War; an heroic activity given brilliant theatrical expression in the award winning stage play ''Warhorse'', adapted from Michael Morpurgo's book and now a major Hollywood ? lm by Steven Spielberg.Stanley Jackson and Michael Morpurgo were both guests of Libby Purves on BBC Radio 4's ''Midweek'' programme on 19 October 2010.

A very informative and enjoyable book which looks behind the scenes of hiring entertainers and personalities for coporate events. Full of stories featuring well-known people from the world of entertainmenst, sport and politics. A real insight on corporate events.

Booker' I thoroughly enjoyed Stanley's style of writing and would recommend this book to anyone who would like to read a light hearted, witty, frank and accurate story of the "Real Celebrity Booker". A thoroughly good read. Well done on giving such a insight into the world of Corporate Entertaining and the celebrities contribitions!! Read on and enjoy.

i loved this book. i thought the way stanley dipped in and out of the chapters with titbits of his private life was genious and bought a very humane touch to the book. "get me a celebrity" is a real page turner and even if some of the celebs are not of great interest to you, stanley found a way to make them interesting. i loved it

What a great read, witty, with a great inside into the world of celebrities and the difficulties in booking one. I am sure he has a follow up book with more wonderful stories.
