Product Description

CD Description

Infant Sorrow is the name of the band from Russel Brand's 2010 movie, Get Him to the Greek, and in the context of the film this is their latest blockbuster album:

One of the most influential rock bands of the decade, Infant Sorrow churned out a steady string of hit albums that not only reinvigorated the stagnant rock scene of the late 90s but went on to define a generation. Led by notorious front man Aldous Snow, whose scandalous exploits are well documented on both sides of the Atlantic, Infant Sorrow is widely considered the last truly great rock and roll band.

This soundtrack album from the new Get Him To The Greek film is HUGE fun, with Infant Sorrow's charismatic front-man Aldous Snow appearing to channel various of Russell Brand's musical heroes, not least Jim Morrison (on "I Am Jesus") and Freddie Mercury (on "Searching For A Father"). The result are some superb and very amusing songs, decorated with every rock and pop device under the sun, particularly the guitar solos and some very clever "middle eights". Sadly, I don't think F.O.H, ie Fornicating on Heroin (or indeed many of the other tracks) will make it onto BBC Radio without an awful lot of editing and bleeping, so the next best thing is to play it very loudly in your car and spread the word that way, increasing the volume to 11 if you see anyone emerging from a newsagent or supermarket carrying a copy of The Daily Mail!

LOVE this album. Every track is awesome (aside African Child, which is crap). It's nice to see Aldous Snow getting back to form and banging out another album, it's been far too long!

I love this album and bought it when I couldn't stop rewinding the final concert scenes from Get Him To The Greek.

My favourites are "Bangers, Beans and Mash", "Coming Up" and the hilarious "Supertight" by Jackie Q, especially Aldous's perfect ironic rap.

One drawback, don't get the song "Riding Daphne" in your head. It won'tleave. You may find yourself singing about bristly thighs and stethoscopes when your 5 year old son walks into the kitchen.
