About the Author
George Facer is Chair of Examiners and was previously Head of Science and Chemistry at Sherborne School. He has written numerous books including three Student Unit Guides for Edexcel A2 Chemistry, also published by Philip Allan Updates.

This book is a must if you feel you need extra help with the chemistry a-level, i was not confident at all about the as exam but so far i got an A in the jan exam and am feeling confident about the results from the second one!
The book explains the key points you need to know with just enough information to make it understandable without being too much for revising from, its easy to make notes from and then test yourself with well structured and exam-like questions after each topic so you can see how your doing
All in all a well structured book that is defiantely worth a buy, at the least it will boost your confidence before the exam and if used correctly will definately boost your grades!!!
The only fault i have with this book is i think a few more illustrations of equipment, eg for titrations, reflux ect could have been helpful which is why it gets 4/5 stars from me!

Such a great book- concise and easy to understand, definitely has all the things you need to learn for the exams, i cannot fault this book, I am so glad I purchased it, makes you confident in your answers and in the exams.

I use this much much more than the actual textbook: it is perfect to revise from - concise without being hard to understand - yet has all the info you need (and very easy to make notes from) and follows the syllabus perfectly.
Love the way it's laid out with a: 'Things to Understand' and 'Things to Learn' section at the start of each sub-topic with the main definitions and concepts outlined. It has all the details you need yet does not feel like its 'too heavy' to revise from. I use it as a main textbook. Useful tips along the way and a VERY useful checklist after each sub-topic. There are end-of-topic quick questions and practice Unit 1 and 2 tests to see how you are doing too.
