The album was originally released in October 1988 and peaked at number 9 in the UK album charts.
The album includes production and remix work by Don Was, Stock Aitken & Waterman, Phil Harding and Ian Curnow, Richard James Burgess and Michael Brauer.
This collection features various versions of their 4 biggest hits including their first top 10 single `The Harder I Try' (album & 12") #2, `He Ain't No Competition' (album & 12") #6, `Be My Twin' (album and 12") #14 and `Can You Keep A Secret (album)' #22.
The bonus tracks includes the following 12" mixes `The Harder I Try' - Hardest Mix, `He Ain't No Competition' - Space Hopper Mix, `Be My Twin' - US 12" Vocal Mix and `I Should Have Lied' - Extended Version; all appearing on CD for the first time.
The CD booklet will include comprehensive sleeve notes and a full UK singles discography featuring many of the original single sleeves.
Brother Beyond were formed by David and Eg White, Nathan Moore and Carl Fysh. Signed by EMI Records in 1986 the band released 12 singles and 2 albums over their five years on the label. It was single number 5 "The Harder I Try" that propelled the band to #2 in the charts. Three further hits helped make their debut album and the focus of this reissue "Get Even" to #9, remaining on the charts for 23 weeks during 1988/89. This success put the band on a par with Bros - battling it out for the affections of the nation's teenage girls, Brosettes vs Yondies.

This re-issue of the boys best selling album is not worth it's money. All 4 original extended versions of the singles "harder i try, he ain't no competition, be my twin, can u keep a secret '89" prodused by SAW are not here. Instead we get alternative remixes which are not good at all.If u want the best versions buy instead THE VERY BEST OF GREATEST HITS COMPLILATION which have all the hits and original extended versions plus the hits from the boys second album called trust. I Bought this re-issue just to hear the new extended remixes but i was DISAPPOINTED. U can buy this cd at your own risk. You have been warned...

An 'average' album.,

This is an unusual album - if only for the fact that the first two singles released from it were produced by the fabulous 'Stock, Aitken & Waterman' which would lead you to perhaps believe that the whole album would be produced by them - but it isn't, and from that point of view, a little disappointing... Many of the songs are from the boys themselves - and they're not bad, just a little different from what you might expect given the hit singles.

There is some confusion here it seems,

People are complaining about this album missing key tracks. It is not.Brother Beyond released 2 editions of the same album in the same year (at the time referred to Get Even I and Get Even II). What is here is the original 2nd edition release with a few bonus tracks thrown in. Personlly I think they would have been better off re-releasing the CD has a 2 disc comprising of edition I and II. And I agree with others they should have included the 12" versions of the songs.
