Singer songwriter (from Southend no less) plays acoustic guitar while singing about the evils of capitalism and consumerism. Luckily, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly (Sam Duckworth to his friends) also uses his laptop to provide beats and Four Tet-esque noises, though he's by no means in his jazz madness, to add a spark to a tiring genre. Get Cape Wear Cape Fly sounds more like Bright Eyes's Digital Ash In A Digital Urn - quite an obvious comparison admittedly - although Duckworth seems to make it more his own style, and it sounds more natural, and the addional laptop generated sounds are his back up, making irrelivant rather than compensating for his lack of back up band. Plus, his voice is just simply better than that of Bright Eyes, even if his lyrics aren't. Perhaps the lyrics do slightly let the side down, though they do warm on you, and you'll soon be singing "open your eyes cos you don't need to buy it" along with Sam. Though you do need to buy this CD, and you'll be desperate for the album once you do.
