Talk about laugh! but it helps if you live in Australia because many of the pieces are about subjects topical to Australia and even when this is not the case, Kaz peppers her writing with tiebacks to Ozzie life, geography, politics, individuals, fauna and slang.
Most of the pieces in this book were published as articles or columns in newspapers in response to specific events, and many of the persons referred to, particularly politicians, would not be familiar especially to overseas readers.
The pieces are rarely more than two or three pages and this makes the book easy to pick up and put down.
Kaz writes about a diverse range of subjects which impact on our lives from the trivial to the profound.
She ranges from erotic novels, diets, feng sui, bachelors, fashion to racial discrimination, abortion, Benny Hinn and plastic surgery ( and these are just some of the topics)
Her point of view is always clear and the humor she uses is wry, succinct and understated.
If you are a right wing conservative this book is probably not for you!
