1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy 2 Feb 2011
By KWC
Format:Paperback
The title is misleading as it doesn't really say much about people and places. A complete waste of money and in the end it was used as a joke present for for "Secret Santa".

5.0 out of 5 stars sehr gut 26 July 2007

This book is very well done. The pictures and information are great. I teach German and plan on using this book in my first year classroom to introduce the people, country and language at the beginning of the new school year.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great non-fiction book for children! 18 Oct 2012

"Germany ABCs" is a great non-fiction book for children who want to know more about the country of Germany. It would be very good to use in a classroom for instruction!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disapponted 18 Jan 2014

This book has a great deal of potential. It introduces facts in such a simplified form it becomes inaccurate. For example, the book states that Oktoberfest is celebrated in October. This festival begins in September, lasts for 16 days, and ends during the first week in October. Also, the word exports does not begin with the letter X. The word Exports begin with the letter E. I find it disappointing when people write an ABC book and don't take enough pride in their work to find a worthy example for each letter,

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste the money! 16 May 2008
By lilbittefrog - Published on Amazon.com

This book is a waste of money and I cringe to think of the trees that lost their lives so that it could be published. I am a MS & HS German teacher and I was hoping to be able to use this book in my introductory classes, but it's too juvenile and devoid of any real information even for them! I spent the money and was so disappointed I tried donating it to the library of a local school and even the librarian didn't want it! Don't bother with this one. For a book of similar caliber, but of actual use I recommend "Look what came from Germany" by Kevin Davis.
