Product Description

Product Description

During the Third Reich, almost every German wore a uniform, whether military or civil. Nearly 250 of the most important ones appear here, modeled by their most typical wearers. The paintings--based on contemporary photographs for accuracy-depict all the primary styles with their headdresses and insignias. Descriptive sections explain each uniform's place in the hierarchy, the battle roles of the wearer, and a fascinating range of detail. 224 pages, 240 color illus., 7 1/2 x 9 1/2. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Format:Paperback
None one book can be the be-all end-all on any subject. However, Brian Leigh Davis and Pierre turner did a good job of narrowing this down to just German uniforms between 1933 and 1945.They do a good job of describing the person that would be wearing the uniform. This book describes 240 uniforms and has a Chart of Comparative Ranks at the end.

an excellent volume, lavishly illustrated covering every facet, civilian, paramillitary and military,of,what was argueably the 20th century's most evil regime. From the nazi heirarchy to auxilliary fire police are all covered alongside more famliliar topics of the army, navy airforce and ss.An ideal resource for wargamers, modellers and those wishing to accurately re-create the appearrance of the third reich on stage and screen.
