This is a cracking little book, delivering far more than you'd have thought possible from its size. Cooke writes with an enthusiastic tone that's contagious - his introduction is sharp and authoritative, while the film reviews are every bit as thorough and informative. There are plenty of books on German expressionism about, but everything you need is here.
