Product Description

Product Description

This is the third volume of a complete history of might-have-been German Air Force aircraft projects from World War Two. The speculation about what the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) might have achieved if World War II had continued into 1946 is a fascinating and rapidly growing field of interest. This book continues some of this intriguing speculation with extensive believable illustrations of German bombers that were proposed but which never flew, from the mid thirties until the end of the War. Previous volumes in the "German Secret Air Projects" series include: Volume 1: "Fighters", 83-916327-5-X (Autumn 2003; GBP 9.99); Volume 2: "Fighters", 83-89450-07-0 (Summer 2004; GBP 9.99). This work includes a rarely documented aspect of World War Two aviation history. It features superb colour artwork and black-and-white scale plans.

I was lucky enough to get this book a while ago from another source long before i started using Amazon to buy my cds and books..There are 4 of these volumes..i have 3 already and was lucky enough to find the 4th which i understand is rather hard to track down on a bookshop website. I have to say these books are a delight for anyone into the whole Luftwaffe '46 scene..they are well laid out with superb line drawings and colour illustrations..there's a wealth of imformation written in the books as well of great interest..the real joy is for the modeller though as some have scale drawings in..detail and such..they are excellent value for money as well...Also worth buying is the German rotorcraft edition in this series...Mushroom Books have done a great job on this series..Seeing as these books are obviously limited additions i would advise buying them as soon as possible.

German air projects 11 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback
I don't like to write negative reviews and don't usually do it but with this book (and I collect hundreds of them) I was really disappointed. To start with it's fairly small ( check product dimensions like I failed to do!). Most of the illustrations are simple outline drwaings with just a few token colour images at the back of the book. It's written in a real zippy/anoraky way which if you are really into the minushia of which rivet went where then this is for you! Strictly for anoraks...you've been warned!! ( incidentally there are far better books on exctly this subject which I remember from the seventies, it would take a bit of tracking down though!)
