I have had this thermometer for a couple of years and it has not failed me once and am impressed how accurate it is. I use it to measure my metabolic and waking basal temperature orally.

Range: 32.0 °C to 43.9°C

Display: Large Liquid crystal display 3 1/2 digits

Battery: (included) Micro Alkaline 192 or LR41 1.55V which can be replaced by removing the blue cap on the top.

Beeper: Approx. 10 secs. sound signal when peak temperature reached.

Memory: Built-in memory enabling display of the previously measured value by depressing the on/off button for a few seconds - very valuable if you're too sick to write it down.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
1. When the symbol " " appears, the battery needs to be replaced.
2. Pull the battery cover and the plug off in the direction as shown.
3. Use a toothpick or insulated probe to remove the battery. Avoid using any sharp metal object in this
operation.
4. Place a new 1.55 VDC button size battery type SR41, UCC392, LR41, 192 or equivalent in the chamber
with positive side up and the negative side facing down.
5. Replace and fasten the plue and battery cover securely.

HOW TO USE:
1. Depress the on/off button. The display will read.
2. Release the power switch and the display will show L °C with °C flashing.
3. Disinfect the probe with ethyl (rubbing) alcohol. Position the probe (oral, rectal, axillary ... etc.).
4. Once the degree sign (°C) on the display has stopped flashing (usually within 40 to 120 seconds), the correct temperature is indicated. The temperature reading will not change after the °C stops flashing and an alarm signal will sound for approximately 10 seconds.
5.

Brilliant, after spending several minutes trying to work out the reading on my old mercury thermometer this one is a 'God Send'. It's really easy to use & it's very good value, my daughter paid a lot more for hers from Tesco.

I was surprised how good this was for the price. Well made and accurate, with a clear easy to read display. I checked the accuracy against a mercury thermometer of known calibration and there was no variation.

Easy to read instructions! Easy to use!
Press button, place under tongue, wait for the beep and then read the temperature! Marvellous!

Very basic but perfect. Large screen shows temperature after a beep. It is not instant, sometimes taking up to 40 seconds - but to be fair, if you want instant you need to pay quite a bit for a digital. This is cheap and does what it says on the tin! Very good value for money :)

The product arrived within a few days of ordering. It is very easy to use and gets the measurement quickly. Haven't had it for long enough to comment on the battery life. Quite pleased with the purchase.

I was sent one of these digital clinical thermometers by the supplier for review purposes and I have found it pretty good for home use. It is (as far as I can tell) accurate, has a good, large numeric display (in Celsius only), seems pretty robust and comes with a neat, clear plastic case which it clips into for storage. I very much like the quiet beep function which lets you know when a steady reading has been reached, and it also has a memory which will recall the last reading taken. Obviously, it resets automatically, and doesn't have to be shaken down like a mercury thermometer, which is very welcome for those of us with muscle or joint problems.

The disadvantage for me is that it's a bit large and clumsy compared to a mercury thermometer. The display part is necessarily fairly wide and this unbalances the thermometer so that I find it impossible to hold it in my mouth without supporting the end of the thermometer. Others in my family found the same. It's not a terrible fault, but it is a little irritating.

However, this is convenient, accurate and reliable, and overall I can recommend it.
